Embattled Budalangi Member of Parliament, Ababu Namwamba, finally came clean about the person he will support for President in the 2017 General Elections and left everybody shocked and confused.
Speaking over the weekend, Ababu revealed that he will support a President who will have the Luhya community’s interests at heart and no one else.
He said he was in talks with Amani National Congress (ANC) leader,Musalia Mudavadi, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo to ensure they field one candidate for President from Western Kenya and he will support one him.
Namwamba urged the three top Luhya leaders and all those planning to contest for the top seat to unite and form an alliance that is going to compete for the Presidency.
The Budalangi legislator also refused claims that he was headed to Jubilee after quitting CORD, saying Uhuru and Raila are birds of the same feathers and will not support either one of them.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Sirisia MP, John Waluke, who assured the region that they will support one of their own for President.
“As leaders from Western Kenya, and the whole Mulembe Nationfor that matter, we must be on the ballot in 2017.
There is no doubt about it… As a community, we must assert our numerical strength and rally behind one of our own,” Waluke said over the weekend.
