Gospel superstar Bahati was on Sunday, September 11, attacked and robbed of valuables in Mathare.
Bahati was in Vietnam area of Mathare shooting a music video when angry residents mobbed him.
It was during the commotion that the musician is said to have lost his phone and shoes.
According to a witness, a video camera was also damaged in the attack.
According to a witness who spoke to TUKO.co.ke, the singer was in the slum with a white man who was shooting the video.
The witness said a group of residents approached the musician saying he was using the slum to make money while he has never shared anything with them.
“Watu walimwambia anatumia Mathare kujijenga na harudishi kitu,” the witness told TUKO.co.ke.
Another resident from Mathare said the musician was forced to leave the area as youths threatened to beat him up if he stayed.
The gospel musician on Saturday, September 10, created outrage across the country after he unseated the President Uhuru Kenyatta during the Jubilee Party launch at Kasarani.
Kenyans accused the musician of disrespecting authority and was forced to apologise for the incident.
