This arsenal is billed as Kenya’s biggest counter-terrorism weapon that the country will use in its latest effort to fight against terrorism and extremists.

Ina report released on Monday,The drone lid was opened by The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Sipri) at the Kenya-US weapons trade.

The pilotless aircraft, dubbed ScanEagle, will enable Kenyan security organs to conduct real-time surveillance and reconnaissance activities in Al Shabaab hide-outs alongside other major crime scenes inside Kenya’s borders.

This would adversely prevent staged pre-emptive attacks by terrorists on Kenyans.

The aircraft is set to arrive in September. Security experts say the drone could also be used to execute precision guided attacks on the militants, track their communication and possibly foil the training of new recruits.
