The Council of Governors led by Peter Munya announced that there will be no negotiation with the striking doctors.
Munya released the statement after the Kenya Medical Association requested to be given another chance to talk with the religious leaders. Munya claimed the doctors request and their ongoing strike was ill-intentioned and dishonest.
The Meru governor insists that as far as he is concerned, the deadline of return to work for the striking doctors elapsed on Wednesday.
The Council of Governors chairman furthermore stated that as far as he is concerned, the county governments have been instructed to carry a headcount on the number of doctors who have resumed to work and to fire those who are still rebellious
