Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has come out after a long hideout and spoken about her preferred candidate for the upcoming 2017 Presidential election.
In her recent interview with the Citizen TV’s Mizani show on Sunday,July 24,Charity Ngilu, who was sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta from the Lands ministry over corruption allegations, disclosed that she will support the head of state come next year’s polls.
She insisted that she was still in Jubilee even after being removed from her position as Lands Cabinet Secretary by President Uhuru Kenyatta who tabled her name in parliament alongside other four Cabinet Secretaries.
However, the former CS pledged never to break up her Narc Kenya party to join Uhuruto’s Jubilee Party as requested by the President citing doing so would be self-destructive in light of the fact that it would take away her bargaining power.
“I have invested my resources, skills and experience to build and sustain the party.”
“If I dissolve it and join a new outfit, then I’m likely to get a raw deal the way KANU did to me in 1992,” Ngilu said.
The former Lands CS had before shown signs of dumping the Jubilee government for the opposition, accusing Uhuruto of unreasonably sacking her from her docket.
Ngilu has declared her interest to vie for the Kitui gubernatorial seat on her Narc Party ticket come next year’s general elections.
