A post-mortem conducted on the Kenyatta University (KU) graduate who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend has revealed fresh details surrounding the murder.

An autopsy report indicates that 22-year-old Edinas Nyainda was found with 22 stab wounds, contradicting earlier reports that she was stabbed 10 times.

The procedure performed by government pathologist, Dr Johansen Odour, further revealed that Ms Nyainda died of excessive bleeding following the cruel knife attack.

Ms Nyainda was allegedly killed by her lover Maxwell Ochieng, 36, at their apartment in Kahawa Wendani, Nairobi.

The two reportedly got into a disagreement after the girl threatened to break up with the ex-military officer.

It is said that Mr Ochieng was angered by the news prompting him to tie Ms Nyainda to the bed before stabbing her repeatedly in the neck and chest.

Police were forced to use teargas to access the house after Mr Ochieng threatened to kill anyone attempting to get in.

He reportedly attempted to take his own life and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Kiambu though handcuffed and under tight police watch.
