An Orange Democratic Movement Member of Parliament is set to be charged after he was arrested on suspicion that he had a hand in the death of Tristan Voorspy.
The laikipia North MP Mr Mathew Lempurkel is set to be charged with the killing of Trsitan Voorspuy.
The law maker was arrested on Tuesday 7 March 2017 shortly after a press conference.
The law maker was presented in a Nanyuki court of Wednesday and is set to face murder charges in around a weeks’ time. The victim of the killing is a rancher who happens to be a retired British soldier.
However, His lawyer Hon. James Orengo protested the charges saying the law maker should be charged for incitement and not murder.
The Member of Parliament was released on a 20000 bond and has been ordered to be reporting to the Criminal Investigation Department three days a week.
Chaos erupted for the better part of the day before the law maker was charged as youths demanded the release of the MP.
The British Government has asked the Kenyan government to beef up security in the area to prevent more attacks from bandits in the area looking to take advantage of the situation.
